# Profile and security settings

Your **profile** holds the settings that belong to you as a person rather than to your organization: the name your teammates see, the email you sign in with, your password, and the other devices you are signed in on. Everyone has a profile, whatever their role.

To open it, go to **Settings** at the bottom of the main navigation and choose **Profile**, or open the menu on your name card at the foot of the sidebar and choose **Profile**.

## Your name

The **Your name** field is the display name your teammates see for you, for example on the Team list. It **saves automatically** as you edit it. There is no Save button; a small status beside the field shows **Saving...** and then **Saved**.

## Changing your email

Your sign-in email changes only when **both** mailboxes have proved they are yours: the address you sign in with today and the new one. So someone who got hold of a signed-in browser cannot move your account to an address of their own, and your email is never left in an unverified state.

1. Under **Account**, press **Change email** and enter your new address.

2. Vintage sends a **6-digit code to the address you sign in with today**. The email says plainly that a change to your login email was requested and that ignoring it leaves your address as it is, so it doubles as a warning if the request was not yours. Enter the code. If it does not arrive, **Resend code** becomes available after a short countdown.

3. Only then does Vintage send a second **6-digit code to the new address**. Enter it and press **Confirm**.

4. Your sign-in email is now the new address. Use it the next time you sign in.

Codes expire after a short window, and too many incorrect codes means requesting a new one.

**If the second code never arrives.** The code for the new address cannot be re-sent on its own, because sending it used up the first code. Choose **Start over** instead: Vintage confirms your current address again first, then sends a fresh code to the new one.

## Changing your password

Under **Account**, press **Change password**, enter your current password and a new one (at least 8 characters), and press **Update password**.

Changing your password does not sign you out anywhere. If you also want to end your sessions on other devices, use the button below.

If you have forgotten your current password, sign out and use **Forgot password?** on the sign-in screen instead. That route does end every other session. See [Signing in and sessions](/account/signing-in-and-sessions/#forgot-your-password).

## Signing out of your other devices

The **Signed-in devices** card has one button: **Sign out of all other devices**. After you confirm, every other session on your account ends. The device you are using stays signed in.

Anyone on one of the other devices is signed out the next time they use Vintage. A page that is already open there may go on showing what it has for a few minutes. This is the self-service way to end a session left open on a shared or lost computer.

**Tip:** If you think someone else has used your account, change your password and then sign out of all other devices. Changing the password alone leaves other sessions signed in.

## What is not on this page

Settings that belong to the whole organization (its name, the team, and which networks may reach it) are on [Team and organization settings](/account/team-and-organization-settings/). Only admins can change them.
